Today, two days before the 4th of July, Consumer activist, long time organizer and DC resident, Ralph Nader, held a press conference today calling for local and national organizations to participate in a Strike for DC Statehood to "protest the colonial status of the District of Columbia, whose residents are prohibited from forming a state and having two voting Senators and one Representative in the Congress. by postponing arrival at work for 15 minutes on July 9, 2012, 30 minutes on August 1, 2012, 45 minutes on September 10, 2012 and one hour on October 1, 2012 and use that time and other times to expand our circle of solidarity on Statehood
